Perhaps I’m boring, but I generally prefer to keep them as simple as possible (^_^)

I’m thinking maybe the five volumes of Modernist Cuisine by Nathan Myhrvold et al would fit this bill. Haven’t read it myself but it seems very interesting. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modernist_Cuisine

Out of curiosity, what textbooks did you use in that course?

It’s quite rare to ship multi-Unix binaries, isn’t it? Cosmopolitan is a very cool hack indeed, but IMHO it’s not likely to gain widespread usage.

AFAICT, Mastodon seems to scale quite well. Not without issues but they seem to find ways to overcome the biggest hurdles.

Wow! I’m not sure what our rates was in Sweden but IIRC our cheapest rate was at least 20 times higher than that. (In the 90s.)

As in you would call in using a modem? I’m old enough to fit that bill, but I never managed to find a friendly BBS, haha. At least that way my parents didn’t get any astronomical phone bills.

I’m an old, but if I was in that demographic I would probably launch a Discord space (or tenant or server or whatever they call it in Discord parlance). Slack could be an alternative. Not sure if teens are used to that though? Perhaps Matri

Thing is, in most EU countries, tech salaries are way lower than US.

In the US, in general? I believe so, yes. For a couple of years at least. In many European countries the salaries are already much lower (than US), so perhaps not as much wiggle room there.

Yeah Tailscale is pretty awesome. Recently heard someone claiming it doesn’t qualify as true ZT, but for a mere mortal like me it would go a pretty long way.

I use Pinboard. It works quite well but there is definitely room for improvement. Raindrop is an interesting alternative, but I have yet to try it.

This statement is so general that I feel it doesn’t really say anything. It’s true that Larry Ellison didn’t become a billionaire by buying and holding index funds. But for people who don’t feel a strong desire to buy their own yacht, index

AWS is very good, but you could get locked out there too. With no backups in another place, the ability to do disaster recovery is at risk.
