If inequality is very high (say 1% own 40% of the resources), and a child inherits almost a percentage of the _entire society’s wealth_ just by birth then that select group of inheritances is receiving incredible portions of the accumulated

I have a feeling breaks where you’re doing something relatively mindless (walking around the block, washing a dish, taking a shower, etc) would allow the mind to “breathe” and “digest” a bit better than a break on social media or the news.

The one about the CIA arresting or disappearing a man living in an Ecuadorian embassy in the center of London is interesting. Seems to imply the US can basically do anything anywhere and will if they want to, and really ignores the huge int

I don’t understand. You were saying you didn’t have as much money as your nearest peers and it was hurting your social life and making you insecure, and they handwaved it away as privilege??

Yea I think it’s extremely exacerbated inequality that’s a bigger issue than inequality itself. Total equality will never be a thing, but we don’t need to live in Banana Republics either I don’t think. That being said, without the Bezoses a

Yes because it’s always been the Democrats who’ve opposed making healthcare better. And the Democrats who started those wars. And the Democrats who give tax cuts to the wealthy. And the Democrats who get indicted for corruption constantly.

Ugh, the both sides are bad trope combined with a ton of “my feels” argument. There’s just a tremendous amount to unpack here. The United States is a vast, nonhomogenous, capitalistic culture with it’s fair share of issues. The war in Iraq

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned policing patriotism. You can be as patriotic as you want. America’s great, I love our nation, it’s people, culture, and ideals. That’s different from saying things like “get that Spanish off the menu, this i

I think what you’d want to do in a case like this is make legal the not WMD strength stuff at affordable prices and constant purity. The idea being that the heroin market could grow and reduce the demand for the fentanyls and carfentanyls.
