It may be because our current health care infrastructure handles the expected rates of injuries and death through these internalized manners, and we’ve decided we’d rather not watch it collapse while sacrificing five percent of our elderly?

10% of the population of NYS is 2 million people. It may be falsely advertised if it was claimed as “free college for every New Yorker” but I’m hard pressed to understand why people who support things like tuition free college programs get

Considering it’s been less than a month and there are already half trillion dollar plans to help Americans out being proposed, it seems like the answer is probably yes.

If you’re downloading ten segments from ten different uploaders it can all balance out I think. Bittorrent can be damn quick. Haven’t used it in a while but it was certainly fast on well seeded items.

Wasn’t Netflix originally p2p in some manner? I can’t remember the exact details (and I may be wrong), but I could have sworn their original architecture was distributed in one way or the other.

This is very similar to Dominic O’Brien’s techniques for remembering numbers where he assigns each number in base 10 a letter, then you go through and make characters and actions for each number 0 - 99. So 0 - O, 1 - A, 2 -B... (with S for

Great thread thanks for sharing. Really makes you want to order an oscilloscope and some CPUs to putz around with. Everything in computer science is such a rabbit hole, great field to be in.

Couldn’t it just be for edge server location determination? Not a Google fan, but at their volume of traffic seems like it could be something they’ve optimized for.

It seems like it’d be easy enough to test whether or not something was vulnerable to timing attacks. But maybe there’s other vulnerabilities to be considered too and hard to have a suite which reliably tests for them all.
