That is incorrect. In Massachusetts, for instance, you have to renew your license every two years. I believe you need a new photo (requiring a trip to the DMV) every four years. Your next thought might be along the lines of accepting expire

The opposing party (in the US) will make the offices where identification is offered difficult to get to. Times when the DMV or RMV is open will shrink, some states will require an extreme amount of paperwork in order to get identification.

It feels like you are splitting hairs. I've worked with people on the spectrum and I'm a software developer; I've had the bare minimum of managerial training and interacting with people is not one of my core strength areas. S

I hear what you are saying and I agree with you. In the case of this post, however, my understanding was that the discussion revolved around the employee that had a full workload and refused additional work in a way that was, perhaps, too b

The manager is already being paid to manage people and, as you point out, usually at a higher rate. In my opinion this is simply part of the job. There are some development tasks that take up more of my time then others but they are no less

The article claims that virtually no new accounts are using Mercurial support at all. I suspect that they are working on improving their build pipeline and CI tooling and it's proving to expensive (perhaps in both time and money) to ge

I had a private office with a door (clouded glass) for five years. It wasn't large but it was quiet, interruptions where rare. It was great and I preferred it to working from home (I've done four years working from a home office).

It's legal where I live and the drivers on the road have not changed significantly. For those opposed to legal cannabis use, it's easy to blame any traffic infraction on cannabis. I don't think we have data available that bac

It's not clear to me that Google needs to _earn money_ through this auction (one they enter free of charge, even!) Simply randomizing the list is better than always placing Google in the first screen of slots and then charging everyone

Where I live there are no competitors for the one cable internet ISP (DSL is not available and satellite is n competitive). As such they have not need to worry about losing customers to _competitors_. Based on this article, I suspect that I

This is a key component of cable company advertising: they stress the _speed_ at which data is delivered to your home network and, somehow, leave out how much data they will allow to be delivered. Thus the situation in this article: they su

I don't think this directly impacts a cost per unit of data transferred, as the poster was wondering. I agree that maintaining the network and ensuring it can meet capacity is a cost that the ISP passes on to their customers, but I wou

I agree that would be an awkward situation for myself and SO, but I disagree that it would represent a security issue. If the data is being sent to the vendor, I believe we should be able to audit that data. IMHO, deciding otherwise is givi
