"The West Wing" is the one that hurt me in my heart place. I stopped watching when the meteor was hurtling towards the planet and I was relieved I wasn't still watching the show when they started to bring in musical guests. I

It's hard to guess at the reason that Netflix is canceling these shows, but many shows simply have too many seasons. I suspect it's because the way the networks estimate their viewership (things like Nielsen households or telephon

My team is in the process of moving our Jenkins CI jobs to GitLab CI. We have moved most of them and our feeling is that GitLab's solution is more flexible and easier to manage than Jenkins'. For the really weird or tricky ones, w

It's too bad that web browsers are so complicated and expensive to port. There might be room for something new and different that runs on it's own VM (like Smalltalk) and can use libraries on the host to get things that do not mak

Windows and MacOS have their frustrating points as well, I don't think any of these systems are perfect. I suspect the vast majority of computer using people could get by with a Linux desktop with about the same amount of frustration t

I suspect they didn't mention it because they see the lock-in to their product as a feature. Mentioning OpenID might give the impression that Apple would be interested in interoperability (to some degree).

The current batch of laptops is too brittle, in my opinion. They should be able to function with a small amount of crumbs, liquid or other detritus.
