Commodities have prices set by supply and demand. We know how much a publicly traded company makes due to quarterly reports, this has no effect on its price buying a barrel of oil. Nor did my income play a role in buying my house. What I ma

If it was so important, why the casual nature of infosec here then? Email is not secure. The real reason here is the Clinton/Goldman leaks and everyone knows it.

We also have higher costs of living when you factor in healthcare costs and lack of public transportation. A healthy 20 year old can pay $300 a month for insurance that covers nothing until you hit 10k in expenses.

I work in IT, exactly 0 of my users could pull off a Windows install and if they could they could they also probably would be able to install Centos or Ubuntu. Both have wizards that make it just as easy as Windows.

If that is true, and your end goal is truly safety, why doesn't the FDA and DEA advocate for the criminalization of those drugs as well? I have been told that the argument is that prohibition caused violence and crime, but so does the

In medicine, you have to show a drug is more effective (or as effective) and is as safe as existing drugs for a purpose in order to get FDA approval. Why not take a similar stance on drugs for recreational purposes? If it is as safe or safe

You get what you pay for. Qualified, hard working people demand a living wage. If you can't pay that you get whatever is left over after every other employer takes his pick.

I worked in kitchens for 10 years. It's not that the task of making anything is all that difficult. It's that it takes practice to do able to bake 120 loaves of bread the same way, every night, getting it right the first time.

I agree, but I know the reason I won't pay $8 for a croissant. Because my local grocery store does a good one for $2. Hell, I can get 6 decent ones from Wallmart for less than 5 dollars. Food is a volume game. Perhaps with automation w

I believe that the government makes deals with landlords to rent below market rate (in exchange for an endless supply of tenants). To give someone market rate to go out and rent a place would likely cost more.
