I really like Erlang. Python seems to pay the bills though ;)

I've patched and raised PRs to contribute and they are ignored. I am helping them fix their product. Nothing. So I phone up support and PAY to have something fixed. Nothing. I try playing nice. I try paying nice. I get nothing. I vote

They're not really different though. People's memory is short. I've had access to MSFT source code before under shared source apart from the CSPs suspiciously, I've had symbol server around for years and been able to pop

Couldn't agree more. Even apache status module was better than nginx. haproxy it is next time.

You're right but this puts me off among other things: https://github.com/dotnet/cli/issues/3093 (even though I've been writing C# for 15 years now)

They haven't changed a bit. Open Source is merely a marketing tag for them to gain credibility. They are not very good in the open source community; most of their github OSS releases other than a few high profile ones are unmaintained

Add to that the clearly missing quality control and it's just eye poke after eye poke for me. I rebuilt my daughter's laptop a couple of weeks back after her MS account got hosed due to an unresolvable billing problem that just th

Wow now we can look forward to half baked AI implementation for several years and then abandonment like every MS marketing fad.

Thanks for the heads up. I was considering using vagrant on this box. I'm currently RDP'ing into a windows box in the office and using that for vagrant most of the time at the moment.

I’ve got a spare machine and will run it on first. I don’t do any dev on the box; it’s all remote. I use git client and macvim to update some markdown docs occasionally but that’s about it. Rest of it is on the end of SSH and via web.

I routinely handled beryllium for a couple of years as it is present in certain electronic RF power amplifiers. It’s perfectly safe in solid form. If you drill it or smash it, a different matter! Plutonium, not so much.

I’ve lived in London for over 35 years. It’s common parlance. That kebab shop was a mugging. You were mugged in the apple store. Etc etc.

Mugging is a colloquial term. Yes I did report the faulty reader. The reader was reading cards and acknowledging them ergo it wasn't faulty and I was charged correctly apparently. Unfortunately this was, to use another colloquial term,

Considerably worse. Some people use them as a cab service for the local school and it's like a pinball machine.

4 miles in a black cab summoned via Hailo can cost you £25 on a Saturday afternoon as a price comparison. It takes 15 minutes for them to turn up and the journey takes up to 30 mins or so depending on traffic. I can actually walk that in un

And here too. And the Uber driver was actually carved up by a truck trying to get off the motorway and had to drive past the junction. Try getting money out of a black cab.

I'd not sure I'd call the AL drivers professional. A number of them are complete psychopaths around the Heathrow area.

Same experience here. Nothing done about a virtual mugging where the cabbie had no idea where he was going, shouted at me and told me I was a cunt because I wasn’t stupid enough to fall for it and pulled him up on it. I rounded his fee down
