This is the warning I got when I borrowed someone’s three volumes of Feynman’s lectures in physics except with pages of calculus. It was a wise warning.

At least all the minor iteration results in products that work rather than broken piles of unicorn shit.

Won't this also cache a bad record for longer like NXDOMAIN which is what we're getting?

We're seeing this as well. Edit: it has now taken out our CI infrastructure and dev environments as it's caching NXDOMAIN records.

It's really fine for casual documentation. I wouldn't write a book or a paper in it though.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Interesting read. I'm a ham as well. I think the through hole stuff is dead. It's difficult and expensive to get a lot of parts now and my huge stockpile is dwindling. I prototype with strips of FR4

As someone who has used both and DigitalOcean, Lightsail performance is absolutely terrible compared to the above. It feels like you have perpetually run out of CPU credits.

I agree. Back in the dark ages, when the battle of www vs Gopher was still on, I sided heavily on the side of Gopher because it didn't get in the way of the content. Gopher was a means to navigate the maze of content and most of the co

That's rather cool. I am slightly obsessed with current loop designs myself. It's amazing that you can deliver sensor power and the data in an analogue or digital form over two wires over huge distances without degraded performanc

Exactly this. The first step for me is usually to redraw out the messed up crap the last person drafted as things that look like the design patterns. Even Tektronix and HP can produce some dire schematics so when you've got your head i

PowerShell is one of the few bits of software which has actually made me throw a computer in anger. The idea has potential but the implementation is just bad. It's slow (I have to wait 5-10 second and before it responds on an i7?!?), i

Got a 2013 MBP (also i7, 16Gb RAM) and iTunes flies on it. It's perfectly usable on my i5 T440 with 8Gb of RAM on windows 10 as well. The only thing that pisses me off about it is the ellipsis next to the track names on the song list.

Call order and count assertions are important in non-idempotent calls (message delivery for example) and complex integration tests. While I respect your opinion, it misses three realities. Firstly you can't generalise most complex syst

We do use mocks like that. How else do you test that a complex piece of logic doesn't try and perform the same operation twice, such as a trivial case of sending only one message to a queue? Without the assertion, you are left with an

This is only complex now. It used to be this complex to get GCC up off the ground. Now we just apt-get or yum install it. In time this will be the status quo for this and then you will just be able to type "make test" and it'
