You, clearly, have never flown EK. I have six flights in EK first class under my belt. I've taken showers on their airplanes. I've enjoyed $1,500 bottles of 1964 port wine and cognac poured generously. I've eaten caviar an

There's only so far you can get off-grid in the USA. The most remote is probably the Owyhee Desert, which is centered around the intersection of Oregon, Nevada, and Idaho. Out there, you can easily go 80-100 miles off pavement, somet

I've driven something like 60,000 off-road miles since I bought my first truck in 2005. For overlanding, all you really need is a one big, high quality battery. The Odyssey PC2150 series are great batteries. Not cheap, but fantastic

This is so true. Non-military friends talk about going to the gun ranges in Vegas where they can shoot M249s for absurd prices. All I can think about when I hear these stories is being on a broiling hot range in Oklahoma in the middle of

Eh, it's more common than that. I worked for a roboinvestor tech company that paid an artist to draw a bunch of this crap. The deal was that it was supposed to appeal to Gen-Zers, with diverse racial cartoon characters doing their be

I think this plane is flying much lower and slower. The B2s are based at Whiteman AFB, which is about 25 miles south of this photograph. The prevailing winds in this part of the country are from the south, so I suspect that it is about t

Are you saying that the Bay Area doesn't have these same worker shortages driving up pay to never-before-seen levels? It's certainly happening here in PA, and it was happening back in my Texas hometown when I went back for Thanks

Yes, an actual shortage problem. My region is the transshipment hub for the entire Mid-Atlantic region. Part of the reason shipping is such a clusterfuck is because these docks are dreadfully understaffed. They will give you a $5000 bonu

Unlivable wage? I can go to a warehouse here in cheap Central PA and have a job tomorrow making $30-35/hr working on the loading dock. You can live on that here. I think you are making excuses for them and it's not helping them

This column posits that this crime might not happen if these young perpetrators had jobs. We are living in a time when businesses are cutting back store hours or closing permanently because they can’t find enough employees. The notion tha

I lived in Park City, UT throughout much of the 1990s and early 2000s. My family had a home in Telluride, so I’m familiar with the situation there, as well. I have an idea for a solution that I’m surprised was not mentioned. It’s simple:

Your random thought led me to this one: A Raspberry Pi that plugs into the a PCI slot, which gives it power and exposes a virtual serial port along with an Ethernet port that shows up on the host system and can be used to route packets to t

Considering that the CCP paid The NY Times, LA Times, and other major papers to publish propaganda pieces and not publish COVID lab leak pieces during 2020, I don't believe much of what I read when it comes to articles that could be de
