Can you explain? Are you talking about inline water heaters as the efficient ones? I have only seen the tank style in the U.S. So it seems to fit, though I guess you are implying those will get replaced by something better.

What devices are left that are fairly normal (that normal people might interact with in a given week), mechanical or electromechanical, have at least modest complexity, and have no microchips? Locks? Guns? What else? EDIT: perhaps an extra

Science requires good hypotheses to contruct good experiments to learn new things. Math is absract, but it can have implications that are testable in the real world.

I was interested to hear more about why this model is so exciting. Any thoughts, or just faster/better?

What's the background here? Why is this model so popular? Are previous models a viable alternative for some? How long until production can catch up?

"The "drunk driver returning home from the bar" problem has been solved." No, it has not. Taxis have been around as long as cars, and people are still dying. Drowsy driving hasn't been solved, either.

As with anything, it depends on the tech available and cost. What may have been a net loss before may be a net win today.

Desire for immigration doesn't imply that you want completely uncontrolled immigration. Maybe you want to bring in mostly educated non-criminals? Or mostly people who generally agree with the governing philosophy and our notion of free

Give profits to investors, or reinvest? That seems like the main issue, more so than "manipulation". Of course if you give profits to investors, that allows room for others to out-invest you. But the assumption throughout the arti

Maybe obnoxious people aren't the problem. Maybe reasonable people are. After all, I wouldn't lose sleep over an obnoxious person making an obnoxious demand. They'd be summarily ignored. But I would feel a tinge of guilt if s

If an author can publish code with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude, why can't people make requests with the same attitude? If the author is under no obligations at all, a request is no problem, right? Well, the problem is that it's

Simple ISA is easier to implement. You can have a naive/slow/cheap chip that can run the same programs as a cutting-edge high-performance chip.

"They aren't going anywhere." That seems to be said of a lot of things that do end up disappearing. Hard to tell whether there are real roots in the market or if it's going to evaporate like so many other things.

You claim that supply issues are the root cause, but it's certainly some combination. If monetary and fiscal policy had been tighter, we might not see the same jump when hit with a supply issue.

The idea that Ayn Rand influenced the outcome of the 2016 election in Trump's favor is conspiracy theory territory. And you seem to have forgotten about the tech bilionaire who brought us good electric cars and cheap access to space.

In the comment to which I replied, "them" refers to Jewish Israelis ("Everyone else in the region hates them"). Jewish Israelis are Middle Eastern, not part of the West.

Immigration is not generally regarded as a right, nor is recognition of membership by a particular religious structure. And racism by itself doesn't appear to constitute apartheid.

My understanding is that, once you're a citizen of Israel, you have the same rights as other Israeli citizens, regardless of race or religion. Under apartheid, rights were infringed based on race.
