I'm sorry. What can (non-american) outsiders do to help fix/improve this situation (in American prisons)?

But one could start with the small things: "yelled at...". Totally unnecessary imho. Why do this?

Then why not just shoot them (and spare the money for food and housing)? (For the record, I'm strongly against death penalty). I cannot believe it. I would fire immediately all and every prison employee which act as respectlessly and i

Yes, but how is an inmate supposed to become 'better' in future if he (I assume this only happens to men) is treated this respectless? Maybe you are right with winning votes. But on the other hand I perceive the americans as quite

Well, nothing to do with hackers, but if this > Immediately they are yelled at by officers to strip naked, get ‘nuts to butts,’ and after being searched they are kept naked for several minutes until they are issued some boxers... is true

Free market doesn't mean that the government wouldn't be allowed to set basic standards which must be complied with. When I read that the income for Uber drivers goes as low as 8 US$/hr after deductions/costs, I think re

And if they don't have the choice to not drive for Uber? Maybe b/c higher paying taxis have been unable to compete? - Rather unamusing that Uber is (still) allowed to shift much of the risk to their drivers. Glad that in Germany t

As you said: to some extent! Have a look at the "What is Github Pages" [1] and one clearly feels that Pages is meant for software, projects, manuals etc. And NOT to publish documents to shame 3rd party misbehaviour and hopefully a

It's really maybe not so useless as I thought. I forgot that such a list may show up on the first page when doing a google search for a (new) shop. The 631 stores have likely been fixed b/c of the publicity (thanks to kicking the

A 'normal consumer' won't be helped by such a technical list on github/gitlab. Do you really believe they would look there? If they wanted protection they could have installed Ad-blockers etc. long time ago already. (Or

As long as taxi drivers have higher salaries and are better protected this is a good move. I very much salute the innovations uber enabled. Only there should be a law which guarantees a decent minimum salary for uber riders. No good to allo

If this [untold Arduino history]( http://arduinohistory.github.io/ ) link is true, it seems like Massimo Banzi is not only difficult to do business with but that he had a very particular way to give credit. Better buy clones.

I don't find a good link for the following statement but I saw it mentioned a few times lately and it seems that Erdogan was banished from political life because of it. At a conference in 1998, Erdogan quoted from an Islamic poem: &quo

A Gooxit would be in order. From time to time I wonder why the EU accepts foreign companies stealing so much personal data. China did the right thing. We should learn from them. India, afaik, also has better protection.

Economic war: US vs. Germany. Nothing else. Nature would benefit if gasoline prices were 10 US per liter and people would stop to drive around senselessly. (I know the geographic circumstances make this impossible, but nevertheless...).
