Insanity! not just the arrest order but the 24hr blackout, can someone living there confirm if Google is blocked or was blocked recently? This seems like an excessive amount of power wield by some random judge, not to mention the non issue

Why would GMaps degrade in quality? Apple's might improve but Google's are on Android devices, and they have another key data source in StreetView.

That is not true. Since https strips referer strings from headers the links are redirected through http so that destination websites know the traffic is coming from Google (sans the contents of the query). It is more noticeable now because

YouTube.apk has ads, and all the sharing options and comments, etc. Yet it still manages to be mostly about the video, and is superior by far to it's current iOS counterpart; so I wouldn't worry about it.
