That is not true.
Since https strips referer strings from headers the links are redirected through http so that destination websites know the traffic is coming from Google (sans the contents of the query).
It is more noticeable now because Google is directing more users to encrypted search.
You can test that by searching through the non-encrypted site and see that the is no redirection.
- beagle3 14y agoI was referring to the non-encrypted, non-login search. There seems to be no way to opt out of it. And it's been happening for a while in this setting; The new thing that started in the last day or two is that they are being sneaky about it - replacing the HREF in the link as soon as you click. Other posters on this thread have also noticed this behaviour.
