I’m confused too why this issue needs to be any more complicated than this. Are there any other product categories where allow imports from a country that completely bans our exports?

I struggled with a few different solutions for this and finally just settled on an alias on my existing fastmail account under my custom domain. Works fine and zero hassle. I think it's fine for the kind of mailing lists you describe.

I loved the setting and the style but it seemed very grindy and monotonous after a while. Maybe I'm not the target audience but manually watering a field full of virtual plants is just not my idea of fun. I guess eventually you can aut

If you have a better solution to the problem of making journalism financially viable I'm sure a lot of people would be very interested to hear it.

Good question. My theory is that companies overhired during the pandemic and are now correcting. AI is another wildcard. It remains to be seen exactly how much it will reduce the demand for developers but it seems very likely to at a minimu

I enjoy programming in Swift but it hasn't felt like a little language for quite some time now. It's a complex language with a lot of features and a powerful but elaborate type system.

What's in it for you as a user is that the app exists at all. A lot of apps either aren't meant to be profitable (government services apps, ngos etc) or won't be profitable enough after paying for developing the app 3x. Build

It's telling that even an obviously sophisticated and careful user of these tools published the output of the model as fact without checking it and even used it as one of the central pillars of his argument. I find this happening all t

The world keeps getting better as technology advances, and people will adapt to the new changes. That's making the very large assumption that there are no qualitative differences among our various leaps in technology. It's not h

Apple has made some significant improvements in their handling of PWAs recently, most notably supporting push notifications. Which makes their recent moves even more discouraging. https://www.thisdot.co/blog/the-renaiss

From the article: There is no native app for The Session, but you can install it on your phone nonetheless. Lots of people have done that. After a while they forget that they didn’t install it from an app store: it behaves just like any ot

I'm working on a new cross platform desktop music app with a clean modern interface. It should be ready for beta testing soon. Message me if you're interested in trying it.

At least on the Mac my desktop Flutter app starts up quickly and performs quite well. It’s much smoother in fact than a prototype I built in SwiftUI.

Yeah strong typing is essential. Redux is overkill for small or even medium apps but it's the best tool I've found for dealing with the complexity of larger apps. Having a very clear, inspectable sequence of mutations to all your

AWS is certainly very capable but I haven't at all found that everything AWS is easy or makes sense and that's certainly not the general reputation it has among other devs I know. It's quite baroque and the UI is chaotic and

Right. The two areas where I've found current AI to be useful are code generation where I can fairly easily check the results and creative stuff where it doesn't matter. I don't understand how people feel they can use it as a
