You are right, but maybe that was the reason they couldn't use pancake? HDR is the reason for this, they need more brightness, so they sacrifice low persistence. Also all AAA experiences on PSVR2 run at 60 FPS and re-project to 120 FPS

Not by much, if you count in the energy used to make new CPUs, and the waste you crate by not using an old one; you are better off using an Ivy Bridge than a newest AMD/Intel. I also believe the older stuff is better built in terms of

The JDK would have access to network card and SSD directly. Bypassing the kernel. Java is already sandboxed we don't need the kernel unless the net/ssd drivers crash completely. It's a huge task/risk, but 30% is alot.

All statistics show 2016 being peak in population growth in the western world. Acceleration stopped 1968. CPU improvements stalled around 2012. GPU around 1030 so in 2017. Energy is the master resource.

NIO solved the problems with threads on the network in Java 1.5 (seminal cornerstone API that also had the concurrency package and rewrote the entire JVM memory model), but only in 1.7 the epoll solution became stable. 2004 -> 2011, 7 ye

The physical world has peaked, in every metric. That makes software harder. Just wait until you can't buy a new computer just like that. Stick to vanilla Java/C+/HTML(5)/JSON/OpenGL/AL and make something great

I get "Sorry, something went wrong." on that oculus URL. Probably a temporary thing, but still I need to upload it with adb because that is how you develop for this thing. Android is horrible now, I remember making something for t

Unity is a over-engineered pile of &%$#. And now I'm being too nice. And it's getting worse by the day. The company is bankrupt, and when interest rates go up further all your invested time will go poof in a second. Own your t

The PSVR2 has persistence problems due to the pancake lenses taking up too much light. Basically the strobing can't be short enough (to not induce smear) because that would dim the picture too much. It makes everyone sick. The top of t

There is no bigger security risk with using old OS over time as hackers stop focusing on the old stuff because the attack surface is reduced simply by the number of victims being so low. As for why the mouse is fast in Windows the interrupt

They have to diverge for the medium/media specific traits to emerge. The 3D action MMO is the final medium/media. Nobody is working on that.

I wish I had time to make a list what would be required to bootstrap this. Either by adding complexity (more features to the compiler) or dropping complexity (fewer C features in the implementation). Did you ever look at that? Edit: functio

Fragility is the price you pay, and that leads to very demoralizing breakage and repair. I stopped all development since my 400GB 540s main desktop SSD corrupted after only 5 years of 24/7 operation. Meanwhile my 40GB X25-M runs flawle
