That why I put the word budget in quotes. It's the cheapest laptop they make even though it isn't all that cheap.

Is this compile running via Rosetta2? Insane if it is and this claim is true.

AnandTech isn't the only one providing benchmarks, they are rolling in from all over the place now. People are running 15 minute finale cut pro jobs and the fan isn't kick in on the macbook pro.

Don't forget to add that Apple is now doing this on their version of a "budget" laptop that has no active cooling, that gets 18-20 hours of battery life, that runs emulated x86 code with almost no performance hit and is a 1st

And that's your choice. I would start looking at AMD's Ryzen offerings because supporting Linux is not going to be high on Apple's list going forward.

I don't understand what compels people to go out of their way to hurt others that just want to live their life as anyone would. That said, if you really think your neighbors are a threat to your well being, you might want to setup some

I do web development and I'm not sure how my locally compiled libs will behave on x86 based servers. We often upload our local build artifacts to the DEV envs... I'm not sure this will work on a different arc. That said, my wife

I've made a habit of reading the 2* & 3* reviews first. They are almost always helpful and never paid reviews.

Exactly, this is what the VESA mount on the back of your monitor is for. For an almost no effort solution, you can zip tie a pi to the mount bracket and screw it in (some monitors may even be able to power it via usb). Integrating into th

I tried Winamp a few months ago and was disappointed to find that it's evolved into a media center more than a player. I was hoping just for a simple player where I can easily drop files in a running playlist, like VLC does. There we

Agreed. I've really come to love Express and the direction its gone after years of using Rails- which eventually left feeling like a prisoner to its opinionated nature.

Maybe he means that frameworks like Express have become more modular over time, which might confuse people where that line between node and framework functionality is.

My issue is more with how information is presented and data is stored. I think Teams just has too many ways to do things and obfuscates too much at times... finding old docs or old conversations can be tedious and sending messages to wrong
