I love the efforts to build these types of resources, I just hope this isn't redundant with Michael Hartl's tutorial. Also, I'm not a believer in TDD, especially with beginners. I find it tedious especially when prototyping

I disagree, microsoft tried to destroy linux by coercing companies to pay a bogus linux tax. Microsoft also footed the bill for SCO's case against Linux. MS' record is atrocious here. Motorola Mobility sued apple in 2010. Just

This comment is ridiculous. The big players have been playing a patent chess game since 2007. Don't forget Google bid for these patents as well and it's completely ignorant to think they would have not exercised their billion $+

I'm thoroughly confused by this press release. I have an app that needs cross browser video support and I was required to use either flash/webm/vorbis to get my videos working in FF. As of a few weeks ago, h264 videos start

Dropbox is definitely a case where a single person's vision was required to create a revolutionary product. Judging by the comments, leaving it to HNers as a group would have just resulted in a faster usb drive.

It's definitely something only targeted to Ruby devs. If you use ruby, you know what RVM is. To answer your question, RVM is a version manager for Ruby. http://rvm.io/

An official Flux build exists for iOS, but you need to jailbreak. I used it before I upgraded to iOS 7 and it has been massively useful for me. It's the one thing I miss most from my jailbreak.

I'm not sure what mobile first has to do with javascript dependencies. The reality is that all modern browsers (and web sites in general) expect a working, modern javascript engine. With that said, if you disable JS on the author'

This reminds me of a conversation I had with my Dad as a kid... Why would someone, who is already quite wealthy, risk everything and partake in something illegal to get even richer? I'm wondering the same thing now... why would Samsung

I agree 100%. For me it was Egghead Software in the late 80's early 90's. I also had fun working in Babbages in the early-mid 90's while I was in high school. Unfortunately, those years were mostly dominated by Myst and Mortal Kombat sal
