Perhaps I'm just a fuddy-duddy, but I rather like MDN's description of what classes used to be for: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Global_att... (The second paragraph.)

Thank you for your thoughtful and considered response. I'll just leave out the bit about drills, because debating analogies is always unwise, especially if the analogous subject is outside of one's area of expertise! > The cr

I'm not sure this analogy works. My brother-in-law is a builder and I would certainly ask him what drill to buy if I needed a new drill, and I'm sure he'd have an answer. (If I didn't have him to ask, I'd probably

It's a ghoulish nightmare, isn't it? I think one possible approach - and I haven't tried this because I am in the fortunate position of having been working in web development for a long time and just about having kept pace

Given this is a complete rewrite, I guess updating doesn't work at all. But at least in that sense it gives you an authentic experience of modern web development!

I'm not sure how much you can really read into a couple of big name agencies being bought out by a couple of much bigger name companies with very deep pockets. Presumably the founders of the big name agencies are in their 40s by now,

If I'm iterating over a hash, it seems natural to use "k" and "v" or "key" and "value". Do other people use different names for these?

I have had an iPhone since they came out in the UK in 2007, and I love being able to check my email and idly browse the web on it (I don't much care about apps, I'll be honest). But, to be honest, I quite miss my Nokia 3210 which

I think the thing I like most about this is how it's evidently very imperfect - the ball sometimes goes missing, the rules for what velocity it needs to bounce from one window to another seem hazy, etc - but none of that really matters
