Discover Cards have a similar feature. One of my favorite things about the card! https://www.discover.com/security/online-privacy-protection/

Large tables use the delete table. Small tables use the deleted_at column. Surprised you never got a request to undelete something. It’s such a common customer request in b2b saas.

I heard pre-pandemic, Google was going to purchase that space. Guess that deal fell through with remote work.

I don’t think having a breadth of knowledge in frontend, backend, and cloud infra is too much to ask. Think of how much is asked from other white collar professions such as law and medicine.

Charge customers more to offset the cost. Pricing doesn’t get lower than AWS SNS. SMS as a 2FA method is flawed (but better than no 2FA). I’d push users into more secure options. Doing so can also lower SMS cost.

Postgraphile just released their v5 update (still in beta) and it’s even more awesome than v4. No more crazy queries to address the n+1 problem.

Caddy’s awesome! Switched our local development stack from nginx to caddy. Especially love how easy it is to set up localhost subdomains and ssl.

I do a lot of UI work and have never understood the appeal of Tailwind. It’s like relearning a new language. Tailwind was released in 2017. Maybe the CSS landscape wasn’t as good back then? Modern CSS is pretty awesome. I’ve enjoyed using V

Questionable advice. Especially on paying off debt and saving money in a bank. And no mention of tax deferred accounts or index funds.

I try to incorporate deadlifts into my workouts twice a week to prevent this. Lower back pain is scary. During covid, when the gyms were closed, I couldn’t do deadlifts and felt the back pain coming. Thankfully everything opened up.

Anyone make the switch from Spotify to Apple Music recently? I considered it a couple years ago, but Spotify’s recommendations were much better back then. Been seeing too many podcast ads and wondering if anyone can comment on switching?

Office’s core native apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) are the gold standard. It’s annoying that they charge extra for the downloadable version considering their web apps are so bad.

I’m guessing they looked at the data and saw that it was mostly consumers and not gcp customers using their domain service.

If you look at the api for AWS Route53 domain registration, it isn’t too complex. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/APIReference/API_... . Definitely something Google could build out.

Domain registration by itself isn’t a revenue stream if you’re charging base rates (which Google was doing). I think domain registration is to keep you in their cloud ecosystem.

I purchase all my domains from AWS Route53 to prevent this kind of thing from happening. I wonder what the rationale for doing this is? I just assumed cloud providers offered domain registration as a loss leader keep you in their ecosystem.

Do cheap tickets actually impact airport revenue? My understanding is that airlines pay a set price per takeoff and landing. So airports should generate constant revenue regardless of fluctuation in ticket prices.
