It is just a pattern around making traditional webhooks another resource on your existing REST API so you can programmatically control subscriptions/callbacks/webhooks/etc. instead of asking users to copy-paste URLs.

We also wrote a quick drop-in Django application [0] (that plugs right into TastyPie if you have an API built on it) . We also have a sample CRM with a live API running [1]. Our friends at NetEngine wrote a sample Rails app [2], and our ver

Recently got a Vastrm hoodie and it is really nice. It certainly feels great and fits great. I'll likely wear it a ton, not sure why there is such negativity in this thread.

Hey Barton! Zapier co-founder here, is there anything we could do when we refer customers to Matchist that would help you spec out these integrations? We've found Matchist to be quite nice when customers know what they want, but I'

It seems a bit out of the ordinary, but we've found ElasticSearch + facets to be wonderful ways to consume time series data. You can dump in a bunch of information about an event (for example, unix timestamp or even response time in

https://github.com/html5lib/html5lib-python/issues/105 seems to imply that such a thing is possible. I am unsure about the requirement for lxml. I was under the impression that lxml is an optional walker, the

I would be quite interested in Gumbo as the backend to the awesome pure Python but otherwise rather-slow https://github.com/html5lib/html5lib-python , which actually has great whitelisting/cleaning facilities but i

This comment, though polite, is quite dismissive of their accomplishment. I think you read the post and wrote your comment as if the $5/mo was the goal. Going from 0-$5k/mo is a huge step towards their very clear goal of buildin

We launched our status board for exactly this reason, to get notified of random disruptions (specifically API disruptions). You can even chose your flavor, we support email, SMS, IM, webhooks, etc... It sure beats relying on HN or random fa

I know it sucks, but in the meantime have you considered slowing those sync tasks down if the user's "last activity" timestamp is older than a few minutes? You might even be able to make it sync faster for active users with

I saw that. I still think it needs a lot of simplification. But don't let me rain on your parade, the app is done very well so far. You are clearly good hackers working on a real problem, so it will get sussed out in time I expect. I m

Hey guys! I built something like this to scratch an itch at Zapier (both personally and for a few of our customers). I've mulled over releasing it someday for fun. This is a real need because (frighteningly?) a majority of the business

Was api.linkedin.com compromised/hijacked? If so, that means they'll need to reset a lot of OAuth token/secrets which will be very painful indeed (worse than just a site-wide session reset).
