Of course it’s .dng; .jxl doesn’t carry the metadata needed to process a RAW image because it’s not intended for that.

The neural engine by design cannot handle all possible kernels, and the GPU is significantly slower for integer math, and cannot do fp64. Then for the iPhone SoCs with 4 or 5 core GPUs, the GPU is a bit slower for fp16 and fp32 too.

I don’t think it’s obviously “wrong” that renters don’t automatically get the right to occupy a property indefinitely once they move in, but rather only have that right for an agreed-upon term. Or that the owner has the right to decline to

The trees… it very much matters where you live. They spend so much time dealing with them because the PNW is a tinderbox. East coast, you just make sure nothing will fall on your house and leave your 50 acre forest to the wilds. (And of cou

As a kid, you biked alongside cars doing 60mph on 2-lane unseparated highways? Certainly no one I knew growing up was allowed to do that, which limited us to the the hundred or so homes we could reach on slower roads (and zero businesses)

They're only large compared to other ARM cores, and Cortex-X4 is pretty close nowadays. AMD and especially Intel have a significantly larger per-core area budget; they have to in order to clock past 5 GHz.

A for() loop does the same thing at the cost of like 3 instructions. 4x128b has the flexibility that you don't need 512b wide operations on the same data to keep the ALUs fed. If you have 512b wide operations being split to 4x128b in

CPUs with SVE have been generally available for two years now. SME and AVX-512 got benchmarks written showing them off before the CPUs were even available. Seems fair to me. simdjson specifically benefitted from Intel's hardware deci

What is the measurable benefit to implementing 128b SVE2? Like, ARM has CPUs that implement that, and it's not even disabled on some chips. So there must be benchmarks somewhere showing how worthwhile it is. And implementing 256b SVE

Well no, any theory of emulators being illegal would be under the DMCA, which bans DRM circumvention without the authority of the copyright owner . But Nintendo is selling games with said authority, so it wouldn't apply.

Increasing density generally increases existing home values more than not doing that; the land becomes more valuable (for free!) if more houses can be sold on top of it, and that's almost always worth more than having renters nearby.
