My take is that this was a case of hubris. Can happen to the best of us. Where it really derailed was here: “Others were not decision makers, so I had to take their feedback with a grain of salt.” Most users of this kind of product are not

Sounds wrong to me. Hiding chat logs or other business information from the company itself as well as customers (albeit suing ones) seem stupid. How would the company ever be able to audit its own operations? Getting sued is sometimes also

Second that opinion. Local media is crucially important. Not least as it serves as a public record in an edited and readable form, moreover, most journalists at the “big” papers also have a background in local press. That’s where you learn

Wonderful! This quote sums it all up for me: ”I didn’t have other projects that were this front-facing, customer wise. And I discovered I immensely enjoyed it”. Wow, does it show :) By the way, the quote was not a TL;DR - it was an invitati

Robots and drones should likely become effective tools in firefighting. Just having the ability to get reconnaissance with different kind of sensors should be really valuable.

I wrote a CMS in Standard ML. My only excuse was that I did not know better. The only other language I knew was Prolog. Should have done it in bash instead, would have been easier.

Disagree to agree here. It should really be how things can work. We have the opportunity and possibly the unity to get together on a vision for mankind for the first time in history. Obviously there are challenges, but if all people got to

It appears that vertical speed was really unstable after take-off and that it did not gain much altitude. Possibly a result of flaps and slats misconfiguration? https://twitter.com/flightradar24/status/110467604831

Of course it can, but only on the margin as this article suggests. The real potential is in figuring out where to put them, what to put in the spots, and most importantly, who to choose to build them and support them given the aforementione

Well, the throttle control was one issue, but it is far from certain that it would have saved the engines. The main issue was still the ice that went in to the engines to begin with. The full report is available here: https://www

I believe China is about to tank as hard as the Russian empire. There is going to be a revolution. What the trigger will be remains to be seen, but it can be just about anything. Most likely it will be something within that we see as incons
