Pretty please buy it direct from PragProg. You get the Kindle version and the PDF (and an ePub) that way. Plus, I get more royalties. :)

Yes, honestly, because lots of times I just don't have headphones and don't want to disturb folks around me. But other times I can read faster than I can watch the video. If you made the video with care, then you probably already

Screen readers can read text in Flash movies if it's bade available as text. and with JavaScript, if it's injected after page load, rather than during, the screen reader may not get notified that the page has changed, so it doesn&

You should never have to develop two paths. Web development boils down to forms that post and links that get. It's not difficult to make all that work and then apply JS on top to intercept things. But it's getting harder to do tha

"just fine" is not even close to true. Developers have to code it right or it doesn't work right. JavaScript-based sites are as accessible as Flash-based sites - the developer has to know how to make it accessible, or it isn&

That's exactly the point I'm making. The prices on XboxOne won't come down because "the retailers would revolt."

The problem is that they still charge $59.99 for Games On Demand. When Black Ops 2 came out digitally, that's what it cost. Same with lots of the Games On Demand - many are $10-$15 more than I can get the disc for new. Not used, NEW. I

Do they have a "responsibility" to do so? No. Should they find a replacement when they burn out / get bored / etc? Yes. I think so. But they are under no obligation to do so. If it's popular enough, someone will pic

That's what forks are for. If there are issues outstanding, and you can fix them, and you've sent patches / pull requests upstream and heard nothing, then get promoting your own branch. Who knows, the maintainer might welcome

I can't figure out why they're doing this themselves and not partnering up with the smaller local and regional grocery stores that are getting clobbered by the Wal-Mart supercenters. Like 1800 Flowers does. I order, the local place gets my

The old DOS-based LapLink was awesome. I recovered many people's files with that when I was first learning how to do this whole computery thing.

I wrote a system that did that for students. It was a ton of fun to work on. And then it didn't work because the cell phone towers couldn't handle it. So of course they scrapped my code, went with a third-party system, and had the same prob

I agree - there's nothing wrong with picking up code from SO if you trust it and understand it . But that takes experience . I've come across lots of situations where the accepted answer isn't the best answer. So I'm talking about knowing

Keep it up - keep moving up and learning more stuff. Be awesome. Don't worry too much about what other people think of your code, worry just enough that it pushes you to write better code. :)

If you use bind-key -n C-f some-tmux-command it'll bind directly to Contrl-f. The -n means no prefix. I don't know how you'd make tmux recognize the Mac's command key though.

You think so? If students can never show up to a classroom, why would they show up for a test? I've taken DE courses from a few different places - all of them used the LMS for the final. No proctor needed. Protoring costs money. The idea he
