The top companies are already doing double digit billions in revenue. They're valuations aren't insane given that.

As a non-PhD, most PhD's insist most PhD's aren't smart - and yet I find them to generally be the smartest people I know :)

The idea is that with AGI it will then be able to self improve orders of magnitude faster than it would if relying on humans for making the advances. It tracks that the improvements are all relatively similar at this point since they'r

Customer Service keeps being touted as a success story of LLMs, but as a business owner and user I'd be very curious to see if it actually improves any UX CS metrics (NPS, CSAT) - as my experiences with AI chatbots are almost always ne

The significance, though, is that the "very limited space and well defined problems" continue to expand. Moving from a purpose built system for playing a single game, vs. having a system that can address a broader set of problems

The prevailing idea seems to be that the first company to achieve superintelligence will be able to leverage it into a permanent advantage via exponential self improvement, etc.

Amazing! Hopefully the effects are sustained over the long term and can be replicated. The potential of the stem cell space is incredible. Another interesting development is patients "cured" of HIV following stem cell transplants

Much of the public support around the TikTok "shutdown" is to avoid it rotting our brains, but shutting down TikTok (which isn't even what the bill is proposing) is only freeing up space for similar platforms to come about. I
