Right there with you. Had a lovely oneplus 5 that lived for years. Replaced its battery, wanted to keep it going forever because Android gets worse with every release so older is better. But then AT&T altered the deal. Had firmware that

I guess you've not been paying attention to MAGA types who equally as much want censorship and who are for any person, corporation, or government who will help them to further their goals on that front. I would love for "MAGA"

I'd love this to be true but there's no reason and plenty to the contrary for me not to believe anything said by people associated with Trump. Time will tell but I expect the opposite.

It's fine for the market to decide on things that don't impact others, but car crashes take victims beyond those who made poor purchases.

Rather than suggest customers and drivers, and their friends think reading a manual for basic operation should be done as you suggest, I propose it's more likely that one of the following is true: * The owners silently put up with inco

Profit just seems like TOO easy of an answer. Apple's an exception in some ways. They absolutely will do things out of spite. They hate admitting they're wrong and take as long as possible to fix UX flaws as a result. And sometime

Touchscreens on phones are even the best option, if only that there just isn't another viable option. You could even say the purpose of smartphones is "what kind of computing experience can we create with a touchscreen?" This

I really question what causes companies to ignore consumer opinion. It was obvious people wanted tactile controls. All they had to do was read comments, do user studies, ask for feedback... any sort of interaction with consumers at all. Its

Perhaps true of competitive games. But I find anticheat mainly exists to protect microtransaction games. And generally those games aren't worth playing, so having the little badge on steam can help avoid wastes of time.

Ownership is the premium version of a product. Turns out piracy is sometimes the only ownership option. Everything else is just a subscription, license, service.

The heart of the mainframe success was being first to make a real OS and real forward compatibility. The heart of the mainframe's continued existence is as you say, combined with risk aversion to changing software that currently works,

I bet this has less to do with ARM and more to do with it not being x86. Given as much time, what will we have to say about RISCV? And what of the legacy of MIPS? Not-x86 chips keep grabbing headlines because it's exciting to think of
