My IQ is quite low, maybe 85 or less. I'm not smart enough to understand why a bunch of smart people would argue about how unimportant it is to be smart.

Not really fair, I can walk into a dealer and buy any car from one of those other brands. The Tesla numbers are 1-2 years of built up demand being built/delivered in one quarter. These numbers will definitely not continue.

At this point, people in the Mac hardware engineering leadership need to start submitting their resignations or being forced out. This kind of sloppy engineering and lack of product focus is the antithesis of what Apple has stood for. If I

You have to admit that there is something to this meme, It seems like Fusion suffers from a lack of focus and direction. Ive heard all sorts of horror stories about physicists and engineers going off on fusion design tangents that pull fund

Interesting write up on this, I think there are plenty of opportunities for better engineering and big private/public projects. Like you said though these are non-trivial for sure. What I can say though is imagine all of those people a

I recently took a trip to Bochum, Germany. They have a light rail system that goes to every small suburb, the university, and is centered at the Bochum city train station where there are cabs, bus lines and connections that get you to any s

Where i'm at in Michigan, they always put any kind of transit funding proposal on the ballet. This obviously gets voted down because most people don't want higher taxes for system that will only benefit urbanites in the short term

This is the problem that real public transit will address, obviously if you have no density then it doesn't make sense. But there are places in the US that do have density where people sit in traffic all day and think its normal. It

Doesn't seem like a good thing to me, with the cost of real estate, energy and labor in California, building sprawling manufacturing plants for cars probably won't work. Plus the margins on building cars are very low at high volum

Was warm enough for Henry Ford, The Dodge Brothers, William Durant, Herbert Henry Dow, Louis Chevrolet etc. Maybe some thicker skin and a harder winter would benefit folks ;)

There is a rebound, but it's very slow. The big issue is that automotive money has always been channeled outside of the city and there is little to nothing that will replace it. Everyone is convinced of their ideas of what Detroit need

What is the point of this if it doesn't support any GPUS with a osx driver? I was under the impression that PCI-E was supported by TB3 - the little squabble between Nvidia and Apple needs to stop.

Just like anything - the techies and first adopters tend to set the trends. If the HN crowd thinks its useless then it will start to trickle down to Normies, might take awhile though.

This seems like a shameless money grab. Even the historical "enterprise" GPUs were never this expensive. Nvidia seems like they are just taking their new GPU design which is legitimate (Volta) and trying to cash in on the ML mania
