My point was more that there are people who buy Apple regardless of quality or features. If you buy Apple because it's the best for you, go for it. I agree that they are quality built laptops. You don't find people who are dedicat

These are the exact reasons. People act like GMO means we are uncontrollably mutating crops with potential dangers involved with "playing God"... We've been using radiation and selective breeding to alter DNA in the past. It&

As a vim user, esc is pretty important. I would say the author clearly knows very little computer specs: "The MacBook Pro had options with 2.4 gigahertz dual-core processors back in 2010. Anything new in 2016? Not really, well… nope.&q

It's amazing how people act like they have the "right" to post some content anywhere. Youtube, facebook, reddit, hacker news are all private organizations. They are not legally obligated to host your content (in some cases, l

And while the name is perhaps misleading to the xommon layperson, your comment of "it is not in fact an autopilot" is flat out wrong. Instead perhaps "it is in fact an autopilot, but you don't know what an autopilot is o

I don't disagree with that. But that makes it at best a "semi-necessity". But that just makes the whole "if you give someone in need 600$, they will spend it on an iphone" MORE valid. If you need status symbols just

If more than the top 30% of people have iphones (or equally expensive phones), then some percentage of people did exactly that. There is going to be a huge intersection of people with less than 1000$ in savings, but have an iPhone. Perhaps

You say that like "ISPs" are some mythical non-human entity. SOMEONE has to make that decision, and the more educated on the topic of potential threats the person making the decision is, the better the reaction time and mitigation

The headline says "to expose corporate greed" The premise is that $57 was the old price. and they bumped it up to $318. And a DIY group can pull it off for $30, without economy of scale. From wikipedia "In 2007 when Mylan acq

I imagine the change in things would be that brands would stop paying so much for product placement. Which would wind up with a much more natural movie, instead of the forced placement that is usually as glaring and distracting as a #ad on

The #1 thing I want from a chatting/calling app is the ability to have a synchronized conversation on my phone and my desktop. Facebook and google handle this really well. When I'm at my computer, i dont want to pick up my phone.
