We should be building high speed rail every where. Electric planes are not very feasible with current technology, but electric trains are.

It's interesting that Node.js is mentioned quite a bit but php or python aren't mentioned at all. Node is a great and powerful tool, but is not the only tool in the tool shed.

It's scary isn't it? Not just how many are on your desk, but how many are around you. In your office, or home. The possibility of abuse is endless.

Having Google decide what ads to block is like leaving the fox to gard the hen house.

Why not use another single sign on service? Why do you have to use Google? Google is the largest advertiser in the world, and is more and more encroaching on the free and open web.

It's less about them taking control and stealing data and more about spreading out. If we keep only choosing Google/Amazon then one day there will be no more competitors. There are also plenty of good competitors for smaller/

I think the solution is pretty simple. Keep building things. Make person websites and build communities. Don't host everything on major hosting providers like Google or Amazon. Don't rely on Facebook or Google for login or integra

What an interesting move. Pretty much leaves the federal government no choice but to respond though. The implications of a state contacting a foreign government for policy sets a bad precedence. Regardless of how noble the cause is. In this

I have switched to IPv6 at home for a few years now. I love it. I wish my work supported IPv6. The ability to have multiple VMs be able to have incoming connections is great. No more having to do wired ports for NATing reasons although an I

Why on earth would I want my ssh keys on a device that is almost always connected to the internet if security is a major concern? A Yubikey (hardware based key) is by far the best solution.

Amazon is on the fast track to become a monopoly just like Google, but that's not why they couldn't break into the market. The reason is because their products are sub standard. One of the only reason they have done as well as the

Ugh, I don't like this. Why is one of the worlds largest advertiser deciding what ads will be displayed, and which ads wont. Seems kind of like leaving the fox guarding the hen house.

They could require a root ssl cert to be installed and then just MITM all the traffic. And Org that wants to protect personal data might be willing to do something stupid like that.

Wouldn't it be better to have students learn on hardware itself? I guess if the chips are write only or are too hard to flash it would make since. Or if cost was a limiting factor.
