Amazon is slowly eating the world of retail. The amount of pure power that Amazon has is a scary thought.

Not as good of a headline.

I don't think they mean analog cell phones, but analog cordless phones. Which would be much more in use.

Isn't that just shoddy journalism on the part of media that reported and quoted them? We shouldn't shift the blame from the media companies that reported fake information as fact. We are never going to get rid of fake information.

There are already protocols out there that do that. Ostatus and Activitypub being two. Some examples of social networks already using them are GNU Social and Mastodon.

I think part of the problem is that people just don't know any better. A battery is just a battery, like any other battery. They don't know that there are different chemistries and physical properties at work.

Not disagreeing with your point. But a fun bit of trivia. The Cylons never actually had a plan in the show. According to creator Ronald D Moore, they intended to come up with something later, but never did.

I totally agree with you. I edited my original comment to hopefully make it a little bit clear.

No, but how can you trust a source if they are doing the exact same thing? They are a bit hypocritical.

That is pretty cool. I didn't know there are BBS still running out there. Thanks for sharing.

Man that site is bad. First thing on mobile is a full ad.

That is why GA doesn't allow PII (personally identifiable information). They can't track a GA session back to a real person.

But the reality is that is exactly what is happening when you delete a file. It sets a flag as deleted in the file system. The data reminds there until overwritten. Computers have worked this way since forever. Also if you look at the defin

Just change the external scale. 75% is now 100%. Users are none the wiser and battery life is prolonged.

I agree with your observations. It is getting further and further away from it's roots.

It would be fantastic if we had a reliable viable way to convert large marine vessels to clean electric, but there also a ton of other applications for diesel such as portable generators, stoves, lamps, heaters that would be hard press to s

It's not going away anytime soon. Especially since jet fuel is pretty much just another form of diesel.

Interesting that there are no News related domains in the list. I wounder if that is due to the number of posts those domains have that never gain any traction.

The future is now I guess. Just wish it wasn't leading straight to a dystopian 1984 like world.

Pass[0] is pretty great. GPG encrypted and synced with Git. There is a great cross browser extension called browserpass[1]. I have mine tied to my yubikey, so it needs a physical device to decrypted my passwords. [0] https://www.

Just goes to show how all this tech can be used against you. Sure this time it was used to catch a serial bomber, but it could also be just as easily used to catch a serial protester.
