Don't forget that Epic has built-in 5% affiliate commissions, which they will cover for the first 24 months. This whole thing will get huge advertising and popular support, developers will just need to take advantage of it. I'm su

The question will be: how will developers respond to this lower commission? Will it result in cheaper games for the end user? Personally I'm being conservative, that the Epic Store will lack of a lot of features upfront and need a high

If Valve are going to drop their commissions to compete with Epic, they will pull in third-party key sales. Those third-party stores and bundles will die off. Valve really needed a kick in the pants though. Their store is thoroughly out of

All of these games would still have been made with a $500 Steam Direct fee. In fact they would receive more attention and visibility because of it.

You don't. Sorry to say it, but there is no audience for those kind of games. It just doesn't sell itself from the screenshots. There needs to be a higher Steam Direct fee to gatekeep out products which are non-commercial. Its muc

The problem is that Steam is getting so filled with games (often of poor quality) that there simply isn't enough 'visibility' to go around. The platform cannot handle the volume of games being added. The question is: what is

Plus transporting about 80kg of human, scooter and baggage is much less weight than human, car and baggage. It would be interesting to calculate the MPG of these, including the overnight recharging and repositioning done inside a van.

Valve have shown that they will do nothing unless their hand is forced. Your best bet is an Epic Store, which will hopefully charge commissions of 8-12%. https://www.neogaf.com/threads/tim-sweeney-not-sure-why-stea...

That is unfortunately not correct. A large amount of advertising and PR is very necessary to receive any attention for a launch on Steam. Unfortunately a mere 'launch' on Steam has been devalued, by Valve allowing anyone with $100

I feel uncomfortable that smaller developers will be less profitable because they... don't have as much negotiating power? Valve is being very Walmart-esque with this move. Already game developers are the lowest paid workers in the IT
