If you have children and a career, then you have two jobs. Sorry, you don't get a "break", and you shouldn't expect to "unwind". This isn't going to be popular, but its selfish as hell to think that you &q

Thats it. I was confused too. I thought the term was just slang, and not a slur that meant anything. So, shows how we all can learn and be better.

Or we are the future as it's happening so its up to us to figure it out.

The only famous person that I can suspect of being a time traveler is Warren Buffet. It would make so much sense.

Exactly. If we are going to hypothesize about time travelers then we have to accept that any significant reason to time travel has already happened. Futhermore it has happened more times than we are aware of to create our specific timeline.

Its relatively easy, but far more than 15 minutes. Think about authentication, design and testing.

Economic apartheid... Not sure how to digest that one. That's a tad hyperbolic. The article clearly states that the tech companies pay the city for the right to use the bus stops. Elected officials made a decision to sell public bus st

I see your point. We are comparing a specific sequence of bits to a physical earthly material. Not really the same thing.

Dashboards and aggregate data are a great use case for redis. Usually you have expensive calculations in these interfaces. Caching in redis is easy and really fast.

The thing that always bothers me is that programmers throw around their own opinions like its their divine right. As if they are unappreciated artists. Its a craft yes, but really its also a logical profession. Strongly held opinions suck a

I honestly think I am getting a quicker understanding than skimming a bunch of text and letting my brain fill in the rest. So sure, I'm better for having taken the time.

I agree. There's a lot of sentiment around, "the right way to do something". I somewhat blame rails for the explosion of opinions, but maybe it's just developer nature. The right way is the way that works for you and you

I used to do that too. Now I squash my overwhelming desire to leave and I give it a shot. Almost everytime, I leave with a much better understanding of the product.

I've said this before, but they wouldn't do it if it didn't work. Just google "video engagement vs. text engagement". It really does increase conversions and alleviates a lot of confusion. It doesn't excuse the

I lived in Spain for about a year. Blame it on the time zone, but inherently the culture is "work to live" not "live to work". I miss it and sincerely cherish that country and all the great people in it.

I personally agree with your sentiment, but if it didn't work no one would do it. Obviously there are people out there that do not think like you do. A lot of them. Why else would a company waste time and money on life cycle emails if

This 1000x. Getting a user interface correct is exceedingly difficult. How would one know what a toaster is for if they had not seen one being used? Computers are layers and layers of abstractions built to deal with an important resource, i

You guys, the 40 hour work week was fought for. Thank Henry Ford for your Saturdays off too. Your time is your time, you will never get it back. Of course time off is important. It develops inspiration, and allows you to round yourself out

While I agree it is a disgrace, what do you plan to do with the detainees? If they weren't "terrorists" before, they most likely are now. Think about it, that's the real problem. I'm not defending it, I think it sho
