This is a very 'computer programmer' mindset. Most people want an appealing UI out of the box, less need to configure at the expense of configurability.

There has to be a more efficient way of writing cross-platform code than bundling Chrome and NodeJS with your app.

Awesome, a little confusing how to interact with it (it wasn't clear to me what the arrow keys were moving for a bit). Might be better with some controls/brief tutorial message. First time I've seen Playcanvas too, looks neat

I would agree that the technical aspects of the show aren't very interesting , but the way that they are dealt with is remarkable and refreshing for a TV show. Usually these plot lines are jarring to me, but in Mr. Robot they aren

The first two episodes were definitely on the 'trippy' side of things. I wish they'd ditch the whole split-personality plot, but seems like we're stuck with it. It's not a disaster, just sort of tiresome. Seems chea

I feel like both of those things have very clear advantages (ie, paper maps are large and cumbersome, I can store much more data on a server, I don't want to bring a boombox on the subway). I'm all for people doing what they want

Can you imagine? If you had your wall papered in e-ink panels you could have localised control too, cast something to one in particular or put up all your holiday photos, one after the other. Would not be pleasant when your whole room is fl

I think you could get the source somehow, but maybe it wasn't on github? Only has 90 stars ATM which seems odd if it has been up here for a while.

Helped it get to the front page! Seriously though, React and Typescript are both technologies some people prefer to work with, because they find it easier to be expressive/reason about their application's architecture. The 'p

Impressive you can run an x86 emulator on there at all, even more so it holds out for the hour+ long boot time and actually runs it without crashing. As an aside from this: what would actually be neat is having DOSBox on there, or some old

The most irritating thing about Clementine (I assume its the same for other players too), aside from its visual ugliness, is that if you play song from Spotify you can't scrub, just play and pause. Other than that it's still proba

Slightly off-topic point about that article/the Verge. Is it just me, or is it in the Verge’s style guide for writers to assert their opinion as if it were one everyone holds. I guess it’s supposed to be light-hearted and funny, but it

This does use immediate mode for a brief demonstration early on, but then VertexBuffers, which are fine in modern GL. The author knows immediate mode was never performant.

I don't think that's to do with stack complexity, more like: "Crap how do we make money" "Crap how do we retain users/keep them here longer" The stack is to do with providing a fast performance to vast num
