Easy, add a leading 0... Oh wait they probably store them as integers, but then it wouldn't matter how many digits... Oh wait some places it's fixed length strings

Kudos to you and your wife, definitely not the way most agencies are going and it's a shame.

Sure but any opt-in iOS user walking past other people's wifi is crowd sourcing those networks without the network operators consent. Unless they only contribute networks that the device has authenticated with.

Happy for you, most houses I visited in Canada are so poorly insulated (noise and temperatures) that it's laughable and triple glased windows would just move the problem from windows to walls. Asked a home building company if they buil

Thanks for the explanation, still for my own sanity I hope this is not the digital future. Also still doesn't address that if a minor needs an age proof for xyz.com they couldn't use mine. Whereas at least a photo ID in the real w

Except that being on a phone I can't scan a QR code being displayed on the same device. But basically you're saying that I need a QR code for each site I'm using? That's not obvious from reading the blog post. And still

A QR code verifying that I'm 18 years old, great! What use is that? Not sure... anyone could copy that QR code and claim they're 18 years old. Or maybe it includes more data than that and we're back at the privacy problem.

That's fair though that seems to be an implementation detail and not the intended use. E.g. if the system would actually only activate and transmit when let's say the airbag inflated that'd seem like a good thing in general.

Well I don't mind to agree to disagree :) Similar points between your comment and the other reply. Still I worked with Java in the past and Ruby has been a liberation for me. It allows me to simpler, cleaner and less complex to write m

Definitely would love to see more SQLite adoption, but hosting isn't as straightforward as it should be depending on your hosting choice (e.g. Heroku) Also had slight issues with concurrent writes on SQLite though potentially things li

First time hearing of that, not sure it passes the "battle tested" sniff test here. No offense, might be a great framework but the gist of the blog post is A) what you know or B) Rails (if you don't know what to choose)

Static typing vs not has clear pros and cons. I do appreciate that JS/TS offers you a choice but I personally prefer Ruby the way it is. Your other comments are basically: - ruby/rails has a great 3P package system - oh and yes yo

Agreed, would love more hardware options. But not sure how a gadget based on AOSP helps with the smartphone duopoly. From the first looks of it those will just end up in the drawers or landfill in no time which is a little sad.

While I personally disagree with the Chinese censorship laws, it is quite common that companies have to obey local laws to do business. If they're foreign companies and don't like it they can stay away. So not a weird stance to ta
