The other thing I try to understand but just can't is how Telco providers can be so incompetent in effectively stopping scam texts. First of, texts are not encrypted and they can see ALL communication. On the other hand the US forces m

I agree that moving data between arbitrary systems is an admirable goal, but this whole article doesn't make any sense nor solves anything. Data migration is more than just "a function" that we can "just apply". May

I assume you are referring to an Intel N100 and not the OnePlus N100 smartphone... Still a whole system is not just the CPU so suggesting a CPU as a RPi replacement seems a little odd

Lol this must be a bigger joke than the app being removed in the first place. I never heard of anyone who was able to talk to anyone at Google. HN is full of folks getting apps suspended, locked out of their Google account and so on... Not

That's the problem, we can't have nice things on the internet anymore. Either you could try adding limitations that would make it less appealing to shady folks, e.g. amount of storage in the value. Or most likely adding user accou

Not sure how well protected this property is in general but if it is then this small personally owned land patches might be one part in protecting these lands. No company in there right mind would be chasing thousands of international land

Really appreciate some of the advice for sound proofing as well as mention of air quality... All good points. But it seems that the author's situation is one where an office workspace might be the right choice at least for one of them.

Interesting so another unfair advantage for Apple themselves. AWS and other vendors can't offer per second or minute billing but I assume they're doing it for the 25h of credits.

Great project! Unfortunately pikapods itself doesn't seem to be open source? I'd love to be able to throw it on my own VPS but appreciate the hosted option as well - very smooth experience when I tried it

Yes that's fair, however that's how our complex world works. E.g. we rely on journalism (the real kind) to uncover all kind of scummy behavior. Similar in the OSS world. There is no way to easily verify that unless some trusted bo

Ehm you need to create an account, accept their TOS, enter billing information and then some. They can easily disable your account should you break the TOS (or for any reason really) Not quite the same as hosting an email server somewhere
