These types of posts rarely measure operational cost. Anybody can buy infrastructure and stick it behind an API. But can you make it fault tolerant with high availability and low latency. Can you do all of that and _still_ beat AWS's c

I'd love to use something like this, but I SSH to a LOT of different *nix systems. My linux desktop, Linux server, Mac work laptop, work Linux servers etc.. For me, to take advantage of something like this, I'd want it everywhere.

As someone who has purchased the some analogue hardware, I will say that a reason I bought the mega sg and super nt is less about pixel-perfect accuracy, and more about buying an appliance. As a software engineer, I spend all day dealing wi

I suspect millions of Android/Teams users will never hear of this bug. They won't realize there's action they could take.

I have always had Pixels which get monthly updates, but this is a crucial point. Even if Google says "hey guys, we fixed it in AOSP, aren't you proud of us?" No Google, we're not. This AOSP fix won't come to millio

What's really terrible here is that Google are saying they won't fix this until their regularly scheduled January release. SERIOUSLY..... They won't rush a fix out for this? Not even for this??? Unbelievable.

I get it. We all wish more people would use Firefox. I tried to switch from Chrome to Firefox, and 98% of my websites work fine, but you still need Chrome as a backup for those sites that don't. Without 100% compatibility it's a h

This article is full of either errors, or at least misleading statements. It comes across as trying to say something controversial to get attention. Just one obvious glaring issue with the article: >Note that the app package itself is o

My work 16" intel MBP crashes about 50% of time I connect my thunderbolt dock. My solution? Do it once in the morning and use a caffeine app to prevent the machine from sleeping. Terrible, but I haven't figured out a better soluti

For my personal desktop, I use Arch linux, and I'm perfectly happy. However, for a work laptop, I am pretty sure I'd take a new M1 Macbook Pro over a Thinkpad/XPS w/ Arch Linux. A MBP can get 15+ hours of battery life, s

I hate that the gacha model (free game with millions of IAPs) is working. I refuse to play/buy them, and I worry that it's just the future. Why would Sony spend so much making a single player offline game to get a one-time purcha

All laptop manufacturers have relied on Intel for years. That was fine when Intel was competitive. But now all those manufacturers are massively behind. They can either wait for Intel to catch up (unlikely), switch to AMD, which is better,
