Binaries statically linked with musl have no external dependencies, even for features like DNS lookups or character set conversions that are implemented with dynamic loading on glibc. An application can really be deployed as a single binary

the github is just a spec, you have to use llvm/clang to use this extension. it would be nice to make this an independent executable to do C checking, apparently not the case here.

use the tool ps_mem.py which tells you both the 'private' memory and the 'resident' memory chrome used, those memory are indeed taken, not just malloc-ed in a VSZ area waiting to be used.

I used the tool called ps_mem.py which measures both private memory and resident memory, at the moment with 50 tabs it took 4.5GB. Those RAM was really fully taken, unlike the VSZ. With more TABs my 8GB system will start slow down, as swap

Debian for server, definitely. Ubuntu for desktop, which is similar to Debian. Openwrt for devices that has limited RAM. FreeRTOS for MCUs with real-time needs. That covers the universe for me, enjoy them all.

In fact Geany has its own plugins (git, code navigation, ctags, terminal, auto-close, project, to just name a few) it does 95% things I ever needed. Also, it has multiple themes for you to choose too. https://github.com/code

it is possible to make cockpit loosely coupling with dbus? so that you can add bsd, non-dbus-Linux-devices(e.g. openwrt) to it?

dubs means it will be linux only, maybe should write an agent that deals with dbus, meanwhile the agent can work with other OSes to provide info cockpit needs.
