Not all phones support graphical output through USB unfortunately. The Samsung S phones (with Dex) support HDMI, but my old Pixel 2 won't do that.

I see where this is coming from, but I don't care about the background being noisy and blurry. If anything, that's a plus in my book. However I want the subject to be tack-sharp, and he's moving and changing shape all the tim

We're just not photographing the same subjects in the same way. 90% of the pictures I take, be it professionally or personally, I couldn't take with a smartphone.

It's not about the niche, it's about doing a job with the right tools. Did you ever build a desktop gui app with php? You actually can, it's just not the most productive tool. Conversely, you can take good pictures with a sma

As a sports photographer, I disagree. There's no stacking multiple frames in my world. Also, as a portrait photographer, I disagree too. Until we can use flashes properly, I'm not getting rid of my camera. Plus, dynamic range isn&

Well, in my personal experience with covid, yes, I am absolutely correct. I got it 3 times, so immunity is not complete, but it improves every time. First time around, I thought I would die. Second time, it was pretty bad but okay-ish, and

I'm certainly happier with remote working, but lockdown? Feels like prison.

Of course immunity holds up, why did we ever think otherwise? Our immune system let us survive for thousands of years, why would it suddenly fail on this Nth disease?

There are at least a few alternative app stores. The problem is: they're not installed by default. We should probably have some choice like we (used to?) have for browsers. One that I can happily recommend is F-Droid https://

I literally just said "I enjoy my life". Does it sound like I'm too worried to enjoy it?

I think it's wise to prepare and keep an eye on the news to know when to trigger your fight (or flight) plan. Panicking won't help. As far as I'm concerned, it has reinforced my priorities, altered them slightly too. I think

Author could have chosen any title. He chose this one. I wonder why. Nice write-up though, kudos to him.

Well, for one thing, setting up FDE was way harder that it should probably be for "the most secure os on the planet". Also, I installed Kubuntu the other day, and I just kept pressing enter. There was even a checkbox for FDE.

You didn't read my whole comment, did you? I said "edge cases for laptop X". Of course I read the FM. Of course I did my homework before asking question. But that's it, right there: just considering that, by default, new

I'm amazed at how the openbsd community seems to like calling people idiots. I've been using various unices for about 20 years now, ranging from Slackware Linux to OpenSolaris to FreeBSD to Kubuntu. I gave openbsd a try a few year

FB is at best a footgun when it comes to small businesses. Right now, if you don't exist on facebook, it's a bad hit to your sales. However, existing on facebook requires the goodwill of... well facebook. They can wipe you out of

I think it's worse than that. We all pretty much want the same: survive (at least). The thing is, we can't seem to agree on the best way to do so. ICE vs electric cars. Nuclear vs wind vs solar panels. Apartment vs homesteading...

Oh boy, this may have solved one of my problems. Will try it asap! Edit: oh, it's not free... I mean, $40 isn't bad, but then I expect a decent level of support. Also, $40 for... a year, a life?
