I find death in roguelikes too punishing and unfair, it diminishes that effect for me greatly. I'll never be able to feel intensity for it because I don't feel like I ever manage to accomplish anything worth saving before I die in

It's interesting, for me minecraft is one of the few games that gives me a feeling of intensity, I go spelunking all night because I can't resist the temptation of more diamonds though, the punishment for death is fair but harsh e

People around here might appreciate New Game and the sequel too. I think most of the time they fall squarely within this genre.

It's Yuru Camp, not yuri camp, that's... something else, but it's definitely a great relaxing show with seriously impressive background art and real locations.

That's a great thing to say but how do you do the enforcement like that? Do you expect the police to just know who's homeless? Take their word for it? Do you have them hand out citations and take it up in court? I can't see a

Do you say the same about people who write open source software? This is basically open source music, CC licensed. Just like in the software world, sometimes experimentation and sharing takes priority, not always, but it still has its place

Okay but how many people run iPads with keyboard attachments yet don't have a desktop or laptop that would be better for the purpose anyways? I'd wager few. If that market were larger it would be catered to.

That may make sense if you're thinking about short term cash, but for longer term investments it still holds up.

I'm still unclear on why SumatraPDF bothered implementing this anti-user copy prevention feature, it's really annoying to have to actually break out separate tooling to strip the flags on datasheets and schematics.

I'm not referring to any sort of future prediction, those people can switch to GPU encoding of video right now and enjoy better performance. https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support...

The person above also pointed out that things like machine learning are often better done on a GPU anyways. Certainly if you offload your video encoding to your GPU it does change the value proposition of that entirely.

Depends on your use case but the most recent GPU encoders are pretty solid actually. Used to be that they were awful for quality, but more recently they seem to have vastly improved.

I've always found this one a bit peculiar - usually debugging is about looking at something on a simpler, lower level than implementation. Rather than looking at a whole set of logic, let's step through it piece by piece, look at

Arudino isn't great as a platform for industrial work anyways - most industrial applications will spin their own boards or run higher end PLCs that have more rugged designs and protections built in for industrial environments. Arudino
