Minus the California quip, I don't totally disagree. Globalism as implemented is turning out very different from what anyone hoped. Returning to the sexuality issue, I do think there's more than one thing at work here. I think the

I can't speak for others, but for me it should make no difference as long as they don't nerf the MacOS operating system. The vast majority of well written C and C++ code will compile and just work on ARM64 as long as it doesn&#x27

Making the world flat and hyper-connected seems as if it leads to a winner-take-all outcome. Example: putting commerce online created the Amazon monopoly. It's easier than ever to buy from any store you want online, but paradoxically

I think there might eventually be a market for a high-end ARM64 Linux laptop or convertible with excellent build quality, long battery life, lots of cores and RAM, etc.

I hate to use the most cliche word from California startup culture, but... maybe someone needs to... umm... disrupt unions? Could you start a new kind of union as a kind of non-profit startup? If I wanted to do this I'd leverage mode

The work rules are the thing that gets me. The idea of paying employees more? Great. Protection from discrimination and unfair termination? Collective bargaining? Great. But I can't imagine how it's possible to get anything done

Ahh... so our learning system may find multiple models but without access to those higher energies we may have no way to know which is correct. I still think it's an interesting thing to attempt and may suggest new experimental predict

Our current data is incomplete. It's possible then that there's more than one model that fits it, and that our current model is wrong but still manages to fit the data that we have. If we train a naive learning system on the same

The fact that it's heterogenous kills it for me. Remember the Cell Broadband Engine? You could get some pretty crazy performance out of that thing, but nobody used the execution units because the instruction set was different. GPUs get

You can't "drive adoption" of anything new in the basic IP protocol space. You're kicking a dead mule. ISPs and IT departments don't care and have little reason to say anything but "no" or "its on the

I'm really happy to see QUIC pushed, not because I personally have a use for it but because it's a battering ram against network non-neutrality and what I've come to call "network nerfing." Now all those ISPs, IT de

If it's a VM bug then why does it also happen on other OSes without running a VM? The same bit of software: * Crashes the OS when running native, where OS is Windows, Mac, and Linux. * Crashes the host OS from inside a VM running Linux
