Gary, You blew off a phone call we were supposed to have in 2009. Matt and I had it all set up, but you never followed through. I'm not mad about it, but I never forgot.

My favorite feature is that it's around $60 dollars cheaper than Textmate.

Cool name and really nice design. Can you elaborate on what frameworks you used and how long it took to make?

"..in the past 12 months, Gates has sold off a whopping 90 million shares—reducing his holdings of Microsoft common stock by 13%." Since when is 13% a whopping number? Cut that out of a pie chart and you barely have a Pacman.

I gave a talk at Ignite Chicago about this. Though I have a 401k, I don't pay much attention to it. I keep it on autopilot, as most people do. The difference is I'm not relying on that for retirement. To do so is foolish I think. I put most

Working in a library is second to none, but the advantage Starbucks has over the library is the late closing. University library hours are one thing, but regular ol' public libraries close too early.

This article is too long for what it delivers. Most of it is a derivative of what all the talking heads say: "Ideas are meaningless. Execution is everything". The value of this article can be boiled down to the following sentence. If you're

The product demo for Compass is one of the best I've ever seen. I'll have to give it a whirl. "Compass and SASS won't make you a better CSS ninja if you're still hitting yourself in the face with your curly bracket nunchucks" Awesome.

There was more to the negative comment. The very next sentence was this: If it’s not native on iOS, it’s not worth using. There was nothing constructive about his comment. I also don't think customer service should be synonymous with ass

If this article is accurate, this is the problem with "integrated" systems. I love my iPhone and iPad, but if this continues I'll be switching to Android. This is also a taste of problems to come if the rumors of iPhone 5 NFC payments are t

I don't think he was ever really an "online video skeptic". Mark wrote an article called "The future of tv is tv" where he challenged the delivery of online video, not the existence of it. The masses don't want to hook up a Google/Apple T

Completely agree. In addition to saving on development costs by eliminating the need for specialized platform devs you also remove the app store Gods from the equation. There's really only 2 reasons to have a native app: 1) to take advantag

My favorite thing about this is Jason Fried's response to a troll in the comments. Troll - "Disappointment" Jason - "Good morning to you as well." I've been studying his responses to customer feedback, both positive and negative, for a whil

Now I think you're going too far. The point above says that you can use capitalism to benefit the world around you. Instead of spending $3 million on a car, you can spend $3 million on businesses in a 3rd world country. In the end everyone

Be confident. There are plenty of people ready to tell you why you're wrong/crazy/stupid/naive and that will eat away at your confidence. At the end of the day you have to make your own decisions. Don't give up because someone else doesn't

You've grown accustom to putting a nozzle into a fuel tank to replenish your car's energy store. That works best for internal combustion engines, but it's completely arbitrary to force electric cars to fit into that model. Battery swapping
