Ongoing cost of the U.S. bases in Korea isn't likely an issue. You have to house those troops somewhere and bringing them back to the U.S. would require building and/or expanding of existing domestic facilities so the economics wo

It's not really in the U.S. best interest to push for unification. A unified Korea makes justifying a large military presence in Korea very difficult especially with large U.S. forces about 1200km south on Okinawa and 500km east on mai

I have to think all of this is just global political jostling -- you're seeing the same thing happen here in the US with tax inversion headlines. Issues like this poll well. In the US, no politician wants to attempt true tax reform sin

Does anyone have insight into the go-to hardware used for these microwave links? I'm curious what vendors are pushing the limits in this space.

It's worth noting that the billing methods for US and the rest of Europe are very different when it comes to voice. For instance, it costs between 4c/min to 26c/min to call a UK mobile phone. In the US it's < 1c

What are the implications of actually breaking this agreement? Does the FTC actually have the authority to fine these companies? If so, how much can they be fined?

Yup, I'm skeptical of the OP's tax advice. With the right direction this should have been a very easy transition, especially with what looks like a SaaS business.

How soon after signup do you call? 5% is definitely on the lower end of what I would expect if you're generally calling within an hour of signup. You can really blow someone's mind by calling them within a few minutes of signup. Y
