I suppose in that case Intel tried to make its own transistors.

Whoever used the most recent TSMC node will have the best specs. My guess is that even the designs of the transistors and perhaps logic gates are IP blocks owned by TSMC and not whoever wants to get their chip fabricated.

A nice plot twist would be if those tests were administered by an AI.

Somehow, on HN, suggesting to use an LLM to solve some problem gives you negative responses. But then ... posting to HN that you've used an LLM to solve a problem is OK?

Would a hamster run this much naturally? Or is the running because of the boredom of captivity? TikTok for hamsters?

Blackmail is still a possibility ... Plus your data can be sold on the market. To US based entities. While the Chinese still hold on to the data for future uses ...

If many people do this then I'm sure China will find some uses for that data at some point.

The problem is this: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jul/30/us-firm-drone-... If you can't defend yourself, then it is increasingly difficult to attack.

But when you do that extra 200% of work, would that give you a better output from a business point of view?

Forgive my ignorance but isn't a PLC simply a computer with some GPIO ports? I.e., a Raspberry Pi could be called a PLC? Why are we talking about them as if they are something else? Is it an exotic OS that makes them different?

It's a numbers game and I don't know if the numbers are in favor of Ukraine anymore, given this lack of defense weapons.

If defensive weapons don't work because too expensive, then the only way out seems to be M.A.D. which Ukraine can only attain if they join NATO.

Can we please tax the negative effect that big money has on the rest of us? I mean I'm perfectly fine with people who work hard making a lot of money. But that changes once that money is used against me. From that moment on I want to b

If memory makers can fill their order books with only a single type of memory (whatever that is), then that would be preferable to them, I suppose.

But I suppose the interconnect masks don't have the resolution requirements of the masks for transistors. Therefore it could be a lot cheaper. (Yes, you could fix a number of masks, e.g. entire logic gates, of course).

There should be proper error correction. So you will have "this is a fast cable" versus "this is a slow cable", and NOT "this is a good cable" versus "this is a broken cable". Unfortunately, the secon
