Except nobody knows where the AI data centers are actually located.
- preisschild 3mo agoYou can hear them from quite far away since companies like X use on-site Methane Gas Turbine Generators because they don't want to wait for the grid capacity to catch up.
- apple4ever 3mo agoIt doesn't matter. The perception is all datacenters do AI (not necessarily wrong nowadays either) and that's all that matters to the public when they see so many lost jobs and high computer / phone prices.
- amelius 3mo agoAnd how does the public know there is a datacenter inside a random building?
- apple4ever 3mo agoEither it's being proposed or other people tell them about them. It's not hard to find out where datacenters are.
- skinfaxi 3mo agoThe local government would need to know, and that would come out in town meetings.
- kps 3mo agoBrowse Google Maps aerial view and look for the backup generators.
