I wonder what toolkit they will use. I guess since they will be using Rust, it's easier to use bindings to GTK instead of Qt which is C++. KDE has so many useful libraries [1] that can be used to build trailored desktops, like LXQt. [1

I doubt it. They have been found to be in violation of the GPL for years, ranging from media codecs to bootloaders. Their response, even after joining the Linux foundation, was to obfuscate the code to make GPL violations hard to find.

I tried to set this up in docker. It fails with an exception that I think is related to the Captcha solver. There is no explanation I can see about how I can turn this feature off or why/if the Captcha solver (which is a paid service)

No Invidious official release since 2019 and it had huge memory leak issues that was unresolved for months last time I checked. Public instances were constantly restarting docker instances to work around it.
