Agreed. Immature - certainly. I don't think his actions were done with malicious intent. Maybe insolent, but that only counts in the military. If he wanted to he could have made his point in a far more malicious manner. And the octocat tatt

Multiplatform on mobile? As far as I am aware, no browsers for Android support WebGL. And Safari on iOS certainly doesn't. And as long as you're referring to mobile, why wouldn't you just use OpenGL anyways?

Bose QC-15 at home. They're great for over ear headphones, I wear glasses and they are not uncomfortable at all even after hours of wearing. A set of apple in ear buds that I leave at work.

Exactly. And those same users are the most likely to not be able to distinguish a targeted ad from actual content. You can say "this isn't a problem because it doesn't affect me". It's still a deceptive, slimey business practice that eff

Playing around developing for a Rasberry Pi (or 4) is going to be one of the coolest/most satisfying things I do coding wise in 2012 I think.

Unfortunately it matters if you do mobile development, iOS being one of the two must have platforms and requiring a Mac. I do use and like Ubuntu though, and could see myself switching over with minimal hassle.

Agreed. I had an iPhone 4 for about a year when the Touchpad went to fire sale, and stayed up fairly late to order one online. I had heard great things about webOS, and the Touchpad looked like a bargain. And it's great for reading Hacker

You do have C++/SDL (roll your own UI!), but if I recall correctly you DO NOT have native UI APIs anywhere near what Cocoa is.

This. User experience is not a real driver for Android, and never has been. It only has to be "good enough". It's open, which I applaud. But you are overly optimistic if you thought publicly traded billion+ dollar carriers and manufactu

Fair enough, and I can certainly empathize with wanting to use C++ so you don't have to rewrite everything for another platform. My perspective is going from the C/C++ (on Visual Studio for the most part) I used in school (so none of those

What you care to provide an example? Are you referring to not being able to mouse over a var during debugging and having it displayed properly? I've never minded having to use gdb to type out "po items", but can understand that if you're

For most people, what makes Objective C so useful though is the Cocoa core classes. The GNUstep stuff has a lot of that functionality, but is not quite what the Apple stuff provides.

Homebrew is far superior to Macports or Fink IMO. In some ways I prefer brew install'ing to apt-get'ing. The packages are often far more up to date. I am not a fan of the transition from spaces to mission control. At least you can rearrange

Agreed to a point. It's kind of apples and oranges to compare the HTML5 stuff to iOS, though. Apple provides pretty much all the boilerplate stuff you could ever need with few exceptions. That's not to say nobody should ever try and impr

This is great so far, you have an excellent taste in frameworks. It's also nice and light weight. I would suggest adding a singleton macro. Will try and put some of the boilerplate stuff I use in as a pull request when I get the time.

It's almost as if the majority of programming languaguages are "thought through". I mean, really, who designs a programming language and doesn't think it through? It's a nontrivial undertaking typically undertaken by people that are smarte
