I think employment references are weird anyway. What an employer is doing is asking for something written by some one they have likely never met, and taking that as some how equally or more valid than the person sitting in front of them in

Yeah, was wondering that myself. Quite ironic that small fact being utterly missed in all this. Also like the anti French language ignorance. The letter came in French and the recipient couldn't be arsed to spend a few mins on google t

I suppose one could point out that terrorism is also statistically insignificant, but fear of it very much is significant. So, I can well imagine that the fear of being in side a burning new fangled electric car, which has the batteries mak

No, I thought that too. In fact, I was disappointed. I thought it might go on about how useful a pencil still is. Some sort of comparison thing. Personally, in my IT capacity, I still love going to meetings, seeing all the non tech people w

I never said or implied any of that. I don't think you understood anything I said. Firstly, I out lined a scenario where one didn't know the piece was an advert, and later discovered it was. Second, I never said or implied an adve

Disagree. If that were the case people would not buy, as being "used" is negative. One is supposed to happily buy.

Motivation is all. To created purely to give pleasure to people is one thing, it is an act of generosity and altruism, if it is done to manipulate, then it is something very different. PR and advertising are manipulations. The worst thing i

I don't even think it is about being denied entry. Its about how one is denied entry and the conduct of the officials.

Problem there is that the US loudly and fundamentally claims to be a democracy. If we are to accept that, then we have to accept that the government embodies the will of its people. Or, seriously consider that the US is genuinely no longer

Its the opposite, especially here. Musk and Tesla are given far more benefit of the doubt than any one else. Criticism is jumped on and scorned very quickly, and is a karma massacre. As such, I normally do not comment on Tesla threads at al

Yeah, sort of agree. I found myself wondering, whats wrong with ye olde bread board? And then, like you say, kits, which we can easily still buy. But lower down I saw their ideas about using this kit on paper or material, and what not. Whic

Perhaps "Bruce Wayne's" money might have been better spent in providing base line care and medical research to the benefit of many, rather than spending it on a big PR stunt.

"Immigrant" is not a "race". That said, a very recent report in the UK shows that immigrants are more productive and add value in the UK, contrary to right wing hate mongering. No idea if that is the same anywhere else,
