It's not about SaaS vs one-time payments or anything like that. It's about how much value you provide. Mail.app is free, Outlook is free. How much better is Sparrow? Is the improvement worth $60 a year? Cause if it's not worth even $5 a

This kid would definitely make a great marketing person. There's absolutely nothing new in what he's done but he's presenting it really well, thumbs up to his parents who have probably done quite a bit of the work ;) When I was 18 (10 year

A friend of mine has been working on anti-scraping for a while. The question is: is there a market for an anti-scraping service? Would you pay so such a service and how much? Some examples out there: http://blog.cloudflare.com/introduci

Sites like this seem to indicate there are tonnes of fake accounts on Pinterest: www.buyrealpinterestfollowers.com My guess is that the majority of accounts are fake, and most posts are uploaded by spammers. However, this may be not mu

Interestingly enough, even though I don't value Facebook much, it's the only one that would be hard to replace: Google could be replaced with Bing or DuckDuckGo, iPhone with Android, but where will I keep track of all my Facebook friends?

Saying Facebook advertising doesn't work is like saying display ads don't work. Sure, the closer you are to the transaction the more value you provide: - Facebook: CPM - bill boards : consumer in the position to buy, but not given it much

Just strange that you don't support offline for web apps, only iOS & Android, even though web apps can use websql. That's probably cause you're used to writing native iOS apps, but we're attempting a web app that works via phonegap acro

From giving Spire and Freebase a quick glance, none of these services seem to be designed to work in offline mode. What I'd love to see is a different kind of architecture: a server-less app with its local database (websql or indexedDB) wh

Aren't there two completely separate use cases? 1. Syncing files across different computers: think git for docs. 2. Backing up files: no versioning necessary Price points for these should be different imo. I'd live with a backup that offer

The problem as we see it isn't so much email's fault. The problem is that the number of contacts we have is growing exponentially due to the introduction of "white pages" (linkedin, facebook and the internet fall under this) - you no longe

Personally, I don't see what Wave has to do with email, it's a completely new protocol that wasn't integrated with email in any way and that's why it failed. They should have done this from the start: http://code.google.com/p/wave-email/w

Task management apps like Asana probably let you do stuff like this. Email is just for messaging. Nothing is stopping people attaching a to-do item as a file that gets opened in some to-do app, just like attaching vcards or calendar items
