That’s exactly the problem; Google Docs’ use case is only “share a basic document and collaborate on the words.” It’s not capable of creating precise or maintainable documents (e.g. no styles as others have mentioned), which is a very commo

I have a Yahoo Japan account and find this incredibly frustrating. Obviously they've measured it to be better on average, but if you already have a password manager, it's just an extra hurdle and waste of time when logging in. Thi

They said "outside of the underlying meaning," so I think they meant you can translate it, but there's no equivalent for the type of word? Either way, I agree it was a poor example; I don't see any particular benefit to

StopTheMadness[0] is a great Mobile Safari extension to help you take back control of your browser. It offers tons of great user-first overrides, but one of them is “Protect zoom.” It’s in the “Use with caution” section of the options, so I

I strongly agree with you. But at least these are some of the best examples of this type of photography I’ve seen. Most just crank the pseudo-HDR effect and saturation, maybe add some split-toning, and look now it’s Bladerunner! But these a

Yeah, I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that's clearly not privileged. It's not surprising the government is trying to get access to them, but I also don't think it's evidence of Google trying to hide anyth

No one does this and the training specifically says it won't work. You have to address the communication directly to the counsel with a specific question. And if there are too many people in the CC, that's also evidence that it wa

There are shortcuts for all of those keys that I use even if I’m on a full-sized keyboard that has them. MacOS has two sets actually, one with command and arrows and one with control using Emacs shortcuts.

Would be interesting to see a picture of your place relative to all humans ever. I was shocked when I learned that approximately 7% of all humans ever are alive right now.

Unfortunately Google doesn’t provide APIs for snooze or mute, so I imagine it would be a massive undertaking to try to build either feature with custom Mimestream infrastructure. And even then it would be a non-native hack and not compatibl

I excitedly enabled this right away on one of my docs only to see that it breaks columns. They’re stacked vertically with a line saying this should be a new column. Can’t believe it was launched in this state.

It has nothing to do with cost of living; it’s market rates which are set by supply and demand. London is super expensive but the pay is much lower than even the rural American pay scale since UK engineers don’t get paid well anywhere and w

No, you won't, just like you wouldn't if you switched offices. Google is and always has been very clear about this. They pay market rates based on location.
