Yeah thinking about it! It was time consuming. Also I’m thinking the market this time around will be more mature than last time but don’t know, watching it.

I didn’t trust that it would be fast enough and don’t think it could send text alerts. Minutes counted in these cases. Also architected it to plug in any source, not just websites (tweets, discord, dark web, etc.).

There are options like SureRemit that has extremely low fees built for this exact purpose (at least that’s what it’s being built for). Hope this purpose of blockchain tech pans out and improves compared to other existing options.

During the previous crypto craze a few years ago I built a .net service that continuously scanned 100s of sites for crypto news for specific keywords (configuration of sites and keywords stored in xml files) and texted me alerts when keywor

Agreed! Love Colonization. Wish there was a remake. First game I thought of when seeing this list. Privateer was amazing too.

Lol, did not realize that, interesting. Bad example I guess. Feel free to pick any number of other examples, or look to my other examples in my post.

The purpose of a ban isn’t to prevent fraud on Amazon, it’s to prevent unwanted seed from entering the country.

I think the concern is the introduction of invasive species that are not here, whether they have never been here, have been eliminated, or are currently being combated.

People also put leeches on themselves to cure ailments in the 1800s. I don’t know if the ban is political or not, but stopping seeds from entering a country is nothing new. Customs paperwork has asked about it as long as I’ve been alive. A

How do you deal with the complete lack of searching for tables/SPs/functions in SSMS? There are a number of 3rd party extensions but they all seem slow and still just jump you to the entity in the explorer. The speed of searching

Just want to second how great “A Righteous Mind” is. Among other things it helped make sense of the division we see in the US (and beyond actually). Really great book. Another book related to this that blew my mind already in the introduct

For anyone here that takes magnesium for sleep, why do you think it works for you? It works wonders for my sleep but I’ve never met anyone that shares that view.

Magnesium truly does wonders for my sleep but every single person I’ve recommended it to has not had similar results. Like many things I’m sure there’s a significant difference depending on your biochemistry.

I’m also one where magnesium has almost magical positive effects on my sleep. When I started getting some anxiety several years ago, taking magnesium before bed was the only thing that kept me both asleep at night and sleeping deeply. I sti

It will naturally die if/when all ideas have been extinguished, and we all should hope no sooner. This is literally the process all invention goes through, some tech just more publically visible than others. What do you think?

Interesting. These seem like relatively minor issues to me. We switched from Asana to JIRA about a year ago. We spent about 2 years using Asana, and I hated working with it daily. JIRA is very far from perfect but like it many times more.

There's an up-and-coming decentralized project called Force Network that has a method to obfuscate the ip of both the consumer and the host, and a mechanism to make it extremely censorship-resistant.
