Yeah, that's how I do it sometimes with other peoples code. But with my own code I much prefer using structs. Makes it much clearer to read and there is little implicit structure like with an ordered list. So my preferred way would

Sometimes Lisp can get annoying though. I've used libraries where a function might return 5-6 values and I only need the first and last. I need to bind all of them and then (declare (ignore...)) the useless bits otherwise I get compi

I'm wary of it, but looking forward to it at the same time. I'm hoping for something like the XCom revival, but... On the other hand, I recently started playing MOO2 again and it's just as fantastic as ever. Brilliantly bal

I tend to think of ABP a bit like the Advertising Standards Agency in the UK. They essentially enforce a minimum standard upon advertisers, whilst collecting administrative fees in exchange. Long-term this is actually better for advertisin

The Ku Pteleopsis Hylodendron Humming sounded like C D F D D to me. Very deep, possibly octave below left-most C on a piano, but for those saying it's just noise I'd say there's some signal there. The Bal Gilbertiodendron De

Yep, although I only use Common Lisp, this is still readable to me. A couple of things could be improved for me; I almost never use abbreviated variable names unless it's for simple iteration. Also things like this being repeated on 8

How much of programming is actually typing code though? I think that less than 5% of my time is actually typing, the rest is thinking. So if you go with mob programming and have one guy doing 50% typing whilst the other guys are thinking.

That might be fine for the mental addiction side of it, but is absolutely not for the physical side. It's why addiction is such a serious problem. People seriously cannot just will themselves clean.

Yeah, but when you see the outrage that Merkel displayed over finding out her phone had been tapped by the NSA; do you seriously believe that the BND haven't tried the exact same thing on Obama or Cameron when they're in Germany?

I wouldn't recommend using infix libraries if you really want to get into Common Lisp though. They're a bit of a crutch for people coming from other languages, but that's it. Pretty much the whole language is based on Polish

A lot of people abandon loop for precisely that reason (it's un-lispy) and use Iterate. https://common-lisp.net/project/iterate/ Even the ITA/Google style guide says to avoid loop if possible: https:&#x

My point was that no-one knows what the French and German governments are upto in secret, because it is still secret. It hasn't been leaked. The only reason the US and the UK are getting so much press is because their programs have.
